Dowsing and the Energies of Labyrinths

and a Call for Volunteers for Worldwide Labyrinth Day

    -LeeAnn Potter

Most people know what a labyrinth is, but not as many know about the Energies associated with a labyrinth. It has been found by Energy workers over a hundred years ago, that all sacred sites in England that have Labyrinths have ley lines going through them. Ley lines are now known to circle the planet and labyrinths in various parts of the world have, through dowsing, been found to have ley lines going through them. Therefore, it is surmised labyrinths can use these pathways for both transferring energy, connecting to Source Energy, and for communicating with one another.

But what about the energies of the labyrinth itself?

Each labyrinth has its own unique energy signature. The signature is a function of the labyrinth design – the number of circuits, presence of lunettes, its size, any extra design feature like Runes, the path widths of the labyrinth, the placement of turns in the walkway path of the labyrinth, and the intent behind its creation. The largest determining factor is the Energies inherent in the location and placement of the labyrinth.

So how is dowsing useful when working with labyrinths?

Dowsing can be used for determining the proper placement of a labyrinth on the property. The proper placement of a labyrinth will help to ensure its connectivity to the Earth’s ley lines. It will also help to draw water to the labyrinth. It can call a water dome up from beneath the labyrinth (as used in Africa by former ASD members searching for potable water).

Dowsing can be used to help determine the location of the ley lines that the labyrinth would connect to, which will make it easier to connect to the broader network.

Dowsing can be used to help determine if the design of the labyrinth needs to be modified in some way to help facilitate the intended purpose of the labyrinth. Dowsing can also determine if the design is optimal for the location and purpose, and to determine its geometry with respect to other nearby labyrinths. Purposes of labyrinths include health and wellbeing, connecting to your highest source, bringing joy and peace to your conscious mind, and sending your prayers for peace and wellbeing out across the ley lines throughout the world

When human beings walk to the center of a labyrinth and join the Universal Source Energy to the Earth, it can then be transmitted through the ley lines to other places. This is the purpose of the Worldwide Labyrinth Day event. It is held the first Saturday in May.

Many ASD members have heard that ASD has formed a formal relationship with The Labyrinth Society. One of the purposes of the relationship is to foster understanding of how dowsers can work with labyrinths and Earth energies. The Labyrinth Society supports and promotes Worldwide Labyrinth Day. They have organized a worldwide walk on labyrinths to coincide at the same time for peace and harmony. Since there are some time zones where there is no labyrinth to walk, Dowsers can help facilitate the connection of energies through these zones to other labyrinths, using the ley lines and the labyrinths. Dowsers can help facilitate this effort, and we are looking for volunteers to do this work. Volunteers will hold energy for those spots in the blank time zones for about 5-10 minutes in unison at 1pm on May 2, 2026. If you would like to be a part of this world wide effort for peace and harmony, please let us know by sending an email to Lee Ann Potter at admin@dowsers.org with your contact information.

    GNOWING WISE WATER

    BY RAVEN LITTLEONE

Let me paint a setting for my (this also includes my husband Peter's) experience on this given subject. For the last ten years (plus Peter's 18 years) we have been stewards of magical springs in Northern Ontario. In all these years we have under-gone numerous studies; scientific and alternative, plus continuously listen to the voice of the water.

In the last year, we built a 44' seven-circuit labyrinth 'ODORATA', surrounded by a 12-standing stone medicine wheel. To enter one chooses one of the snaking, three-tier Egyptian flowers, brick paths, leading to a Celtic cross, left-handed, south entrance doorway. In one of the two-circles between the Egyptian flowers, stands elevated, an east-facing Easter Island Head, three-and-a-half feet high. In the other circle, dug out a foot, a stone seat faces a ritual fire bowl made of lava rock.

Approximately four feet away, another small garden has been dedicated to a Chinese goddess. She gracefully stands aligned north/south with the medicine wheel. I dowsed and found a north/south and an east/west energy ley; four water domes; etc... Just to show my connection with the psyche of the water, and the guardian of the land, these water domes appeared afterwards and also shifted when I moved the center to a visually appropriate space! One dome is located under the new center, one under the Easter Island Head, one under the ritual fire bowl, and one under the goddess. (Just think of how Lourdes and Fatima's healing waters came forth!)

I must admit to having no plans at any time during the sculpturing of this space. No-mind/thoughts, just loving to create and play.

What I am trying to show us dowsers, is that we have a responsibility to understand all facets of water, so that one may be a better conductor within ourselves of water as a Divine Consciousness. I will utilize passages from the book by Wm E. Marks "The Holy Order of Water."

The reason why this book on water stands out more than any we have ever read is, first of all, it is current (published in 2001). Just about everything we learnt about water in the last ten years of our studies on this subject, not to mention living with a source of Wise Water, was in this book. Do yourself a favor and become familiar with water's true essence by reading William's book.

P20 "The fact that water has been discovered throughout interstellar space, ... Thales (Greek philosopher circa 600B.C.) proposed that all things come from water and that all heavenly bodies, including our earth, float in water ...Water therefore may be the connecting interstellar intermediary between all matter in the universe."

My comments: For us dowsers the same words could be applied to everything one dowses for:

    ·       Dowsing for water

    ·       At any depth

    ·       Dowsing for one's or other's health

    ·       Our cells are 99% water

    ·       Dowsing for geopathic stress

    ·       Underground flowing water

    ·       Dowsing for minerals

    ·       Composed of water

    ·       Dowsing a labyrinth

    ·       Water dome(s)

    ·       Dowsing for anything magnetic

    ·       Runs on water veins

    ·       Dowsing for anything electrical

    ·       Runs on water veins

P.19 "Scientific studies have also showed that water reacts to cosmic influences. It has been observed in laboratories that water used in mixing chemical solutions does not always remain the same. Further studies revealed that the water in the solutions was being influenced by shifts in the earth's magnetic field or by explosions on the sun. How and why water is so sensitive to such cosmic influences, even in laboratories deep underground, remains a mystery ... This means that water is far more sensitive and responsive entity than most people ever imagined."

My comments: How sensitive and responsive is the water in your body?

P.21 Modern science is now speculating that small microbes called extremophiles (because they survive under extreme conditions) may represent the first life form created on earth. These microbes have been discovered in volcanic pools and in the deepest depths of our oceans in above-boiling heat where there is no oxygen or sunlight.

My comments: Our home is located on the oldest rock formation on earth The Canadian Shield (highway #11 North in Northern Ontario) - very near the beginning of the world (see: Arrivals - Stories from the History of Ontario, P.22.) The eruption of local volcanoes spewed intensely hot granite lava, crystallizing the limestone of the ancient seabed, and created a high-tension zone of calcite crystals that the water levitates to the surface through. This results into a highly structured water which is capable of carrying lots of encoded information.

A student in Environmental Studies at Canadore College in 1994 explored, for his degree papers, this unknown bacteria living in our spring - in & out of oxygen or sunlight. Unknown origin was the outcome. P.25 "Water is always working to create conditions conducive to life."

My comments: 7 to 7.2 is close to a neutral state for our body. If our body exists in other than neutral state (most of the time), what happens when the water in our body sends a message? Calling and talking to underground water veins for example? How is the message deciphered? Does the water in the ground read our body language; if so, how does it read an overly acid or overly alkaline body; in comparison to what our mind asks for? What message does your body convey? Is it one and the same with the water in your body? What kind of water will you attract?

P.26 "For whatever reason, according to the laws of water, life was meant to enjoy the greatest success and abundance when water is close to neutra1."

My comments: When dowsing for a well, one asks for potable water. One may also ask for ratings of life-force (ex. 0 to 10). What about asking for its pH level?

Do we take time to speak to the soul of that particular water and communicate as we would with a Divine, feeling being? Have you ever encountered a Wise Water source? How can we relate this image in our heart, if we have never encountered such a source? What are we calling to us?

P26 "...the unique chemical signature of the stream ...there are also electromagnetic and cosmic influences specific to each body of water ..."

My comments: Water has a fingerprint; a soul; maybe even a DNA! What does man-made or man-intervened water carry? Its maker's make-up?

P.28 Physical Attributes of Lake Baikal/Sacred Sea

    ·       4°C winter or summer

    ·       Saturated with fresh oxygen

    ·       Natural water purity

    ·       Its ability to self-clean

    ·       Ability to support life forms from its surface down to its deepest depth

    ·       Living water

    ·       Unique ecosystem

    ·       Healthy cold-water conditions

    ·       Specifics of rare life forms that can be found nowhere on the planet

    ·       Deep rift

    ·       So clear

    ·       Spiritual and healing qualities ...

"For the reasons expressed above and many more, it makes sense that we give priority to understanding Lake Baikal and other bodies of water and the life they hold."

My comments: The important part is that we do start relating to these special bodies of water, so that we may begin to gnow through intimate relationship, what "living water" is all about. What wisdom is hidden in these waters?

Have you ever encountered a Wise Water source? It appears people like Viktor Schauberger (see Callum Coats' book entitled 'Living Energies') and some scientists have so far enabled us to know the physical characteristics of what constitutes Wise Water; and more still to be discovered.

Freddy Silva in his book "Secrets in the Field" mentions that one of the key components to the making of crop circles (by the Circle Makers, not man-made) is the location. England's sacred sites where there is an abundance of water flowing through limestone, creating a high electrical charge, is a favorite. These are located on ley lines, are ancient places of

veneration, might still have healing and spiritual properties, create geomagnetic anomalies etc. So, we have a certain type of water, with a great capacity for being encoded.

As we entertain the idea of deciphering the Language of Light, we need to familiarize ourselves with the Divine attributes of Wise Water. In our new consciousness, Wise Water of our earth require to be handled with sacredness for it to release its messages. To create a Living Water Temple in our own bodies is a first step. 'As Above, So Below.'

Wise WaterAncient & most Recent Wisdom.

Wise People read your body language and see through your ego.

    Wise Water does the same.

Wise People will give you what you understand at whatever level you are at.

Wise Water acts in the same way.

If one has never encountered Wise Water, how can one emulate through feeling memories what it is looking for when dowsing? For mankind to re-discover its waterways, it must come in contact with the ancient & most recent memories of Wise Water (also known to us as 'Water of the Original Creation') through its heart connection.

    VOLUME 42, NO.2 SPRING  2002

    a dowser's ghost story

    By Terra Summers

Opening the tall French doors into the sunlight and walking out onto the third-floor veranda was such a relief after the hustle and bustle of traveling to get to our room at the Crescent Hotel. The ASD conference activities would start in a few hours, and though I looked forward to meeting my fellow dowsers, I also treasured my moment’s peace. As I leaned against the iron railing, I sighed with renewed freshness at the spectacular countryside view of the woodsy rolling hills of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. What a beautiful day at this late-nineteenth century hotel! Spring was definitely in the air along with a hint of a musty smell of something very old. As I lazily gazed down at the neatly trimmed lawn and aged old stone courtyard below, a strange sensation of falling or jumping came across my awareness. I knew enough to know it wasn’t me and opened my mind’s eye to what other sensations were around.
Very faintly I thought I heard a band playing and someone singing, “By the Light of the Silvery Moon,” when to and behold, to my left sat a slightly transparent, elderly lady dressed in full-length loungewear of ivory and pale green. Her gray hair was piled tight to her head in a bun. Around her neck lay a very long string of pearls that came down almost to knees. With a twinkle in her eye she smiled, “Everything is going to work out wonderfully for you.” I couldn’t help but smile back and think, ‘I didn’t know ghosts were psychic.’ She put her hands together and glipped, “Oh we have our connections.” A quick laugh slipped out from under my breath As I observed her. She seemed to be amused that someone could actually listen to her.
Curious I asked her name. Though names seem to come in a bit scrambled telepathically, I believe she said “Mathilda.” She continued, “In 1947, I fell to my death over that very railing. It doesn’t matter whether I slipped or was nudged. The details are too messy to mention. The point is I made a promise. It is to my promise that I am responsible. So, I am here waiting.”
Something about her shied me from asking details of this promise. Thoughtfully, I excused myself to catch up with my friends. Thinking on the way she was too kind, wise and peaceful, though a bit sad, to be grounded here among some, shall we say, more flamboyant spirits (according to the reputation of this hotel). Definitely not the tampering type of entity I expected to find at this ghost-renowned place. Casually, at dinner, I mentioned her to my partner. He, being a bit bolder that I, suggested we go and find out if there was anything we could do for her. Off we went back to our room on the third floor with a few dowser friends in tow. As usual my partner asked the questions and I just listened and relayed replies both from Mathilda and the place of universal knowledge. As it turned out, the promise was one of true love.
Fateful night in 1947, Mathilda had agreed to a secret rendezvous outside her room, on the third-floor veranda, at half past nine with her beloved, a gentleman named Walter. Both Walter and Mathilda were widowed and in their sixties. Because their children were very jealous of their inheritances, Walter and Mathilda had kept their meetings private. Joyfully waiting, Mathilda was waltzing around to the music of a band playing off in the distance, “By the Light of the Silvery Moon.” Just as the clock chimed half past nine Mathilda had a mishap, or maybe other spirits interfered and she slipped, flipping over the railing. Seconds later Walter arrived and discovered her pearls strewn everywhere. She had fallen three floors to her death. Devastated he ran. He ran not only for losing his beloved but also fearing he would be accused of murder. He never spoke of the incident and died two years later of a broken heart.
Mathilda was a bit shocked when she realized Walter had come to her hotel room more than fifty years ago and had actually passed on. She had no concept of time. To her everything was momentary-endlessly momentary. She hadn’t thought to ask, when or if he might come. She only knew he would.
Mathilda’s stature straightened as my partner began asking the universe what became of Walter. It Seems that Walter had been reborn twice since his death in 1949. The first time, as a little child, he died of a weak heart. However, he is alive now as a five-year old boy with three parents. I could hear Mathilda say, “What!?” I explained his parents were divorced and arguing a lot. Walter was quite upset over the situation and dealing with a lot of despair.
Since it had been requested, by the hotel not to do clearings, due to the shenanigans of the ghosts being of monetary interest, we decided to ask the ‘powers that be’ if they would bring Walter and even his parents to the Crescent Hotel as soon as appropriate. We dowsed ‘Yes.’ After the dowsing procedure, Mathilda did the silliest thing. She started jumping up and down like a child. Only with her slightly overweight ghostly body it had the added effect of her bosom freely flapping under her smooth-fitting gown. I guess they didn’t wear bras in those days! But she didn’t care. Clapping her hands, she was just happy Walter was coming.
Later, on the last day of our trip, we found out that for the few ghosts who wished to leave it was OK to clear them, but someone else had already done the clearing. On contacting Mathilda again, she said she found out how much Walter needed her now. So she had gone on to the other side of the veil called death to where she could be of more help to her true love. However, she requested things remain as they are, in that someday Walter and Mathilda would meet at the Crescent Hotel again, so they could keep their promise and share in their veranda at half past nine, with the soft music playing, “By the Light of the Silvery Moon,” they would have the rendezvous they wished for so long ago.
One last thing Mathilda had to say about it all, “Beware the mischievous pranks of the two brothers.” She never did say who they were. But then that’s another story- a ghost story- of course.
“Learn to get in touch with silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose there are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.”

    VOLUME 21, NO.1 FEBRUARY  1981

    DOWSING THE OHIO SERPENT MOUND

In the August 1980 issue of this journal, archaeologist Clark Hardman's map of the unique pre-Columbian structure known as the Ohio Serpent Mound, was printed (see small inset). Two sets of questions about it were addressed to readers:

    1)   Are there any water domes associated with the mound?

If so, how many, and where are they located

    2)    Are there leys (ley lines) associated with the mound?

If so, how many, and where are they located?

The Ohio Dowsers Chapter, led by Richey Liming, volunteered to collate the answers which have been summarized as follows:Twelve replies were mailed in from seven states and Canada, including a beautiful drawing from western artist, Ralph Johnson of Duncan, Arizona.
Seven of the twelve respondents found a = water dome beneath the center of the "egg," which the serpent is said to be swallowing (see larger inset). Eight found a dome under the center of the coiled "tail." Two more respondents found a dome nearly at the center of the serpent's "head," but not within its tail. Of the two remaining respondents, one found a dome just west of the egg and one found no domes at all.

After comparing these results of map dowsing with dowsing at the actual site by members of the Ohio Dowsers Chapter in 1978, it was felt that first prize for the map dowsing effort should go to Guy Hockett, of Alamo, California, who located four of the eight domes the on-site dowsers believed they had pin-pointed on a cold, blustery November day in 1978.One who was present adds: "It seemed to us that the structure had been designed to correlate with underground water in that, not only were the egg and tail precisely centered over water domes but, at each bend of the serpent's body there was a small subterranean spring not visible from the surface—a wholly remarkable circumstance, if correct."

It is further noted that ten of the twelve respondents pinpointed one, or more, leys running through the egg—three in all—under a lovely, old red-bud tree and passing directly over the large dome mentioned as having been located in seven of the twelve replies. This exercise, and its implications, may be of more than passing interest to dowsers, especially, those drawn to the activities of such bodies researching ancient sites as the New England Antiquities Research Association (NEARA), the Early Sites Research Society, the Epigraphic Society, and others.

We thank all who participated in this exercise for their time and energy, and especially Richey Liming, for his help in collating the material.

    —T. E. R.

"The constant presence of underground water at the exact centers of these circles and earthworks is a significant feature easily verified by others. If this is allowed to be intentional, then the selection of sites for consecration) by the Druids and their predecessors no longer appears arbitrary but dictated largely by geological conditions”. —Reginald Allender Smith,

authority on the Stone Age, Keeper of British and Roman Antiquities at the British Museum, and Director of the Society of Antiquaries, before the British Society of Dowsers, 1939.

"As dowsers know, the course of underground streams or of magnetic flow is not naturally straight; they spiral and undulate like surface rivers or currents of air. Yet the currents that follow prehistoric alignments are as direct and regular below ground as are the leys on the surface”.

—John Michell in "The View over Atlantis", 1969.
