For the purposes of this skill builder it is presumed that the participant is familiar with some form of dowsing tool and random field dowsing.

This is a condensed exercise with the goal of finding "LOST" items. In this case you will be finding four "Lost Eisenhower Silver Dollar Coins." (pictured)

    Click Picture to download

Download the Gridded Garden Photo to test your Map Dowsing Skills. For this exercise the featured article, Dowsers Tune into the Earth and their Unconscious, has a great piece of wisdom. "To be successful, a dowser must be able to tap into a collective understanding shared by everyone on earth and the earth itself"...."Your unconscious is already part of this; if you allow it, it can instruct your conscious about things that aren't visible..."

The movements of dowsing devices are simple at its very foundation. The difficult part of dowsing and more importantly remote dowsing comes from within the dowser. We would like to highlight two key ingredients for the success of this Skill builder. The first of which we will address is belief. A belief in one's potential to prompt a dowsing response with your chosen tool. The second part of remote dowsing is similarly abstract it is need. Try to prompt a feeling of necessity for the coins in this exercise, because as we have all heard:

"Necessity is the mother of all invention."

You have until the end of August to do your testing, Result will be reveal in Next Month's Newsletter!

Send in your success stories/results Here.

DOWSER PETER HARMON – IN THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER– AUGUST 19, 1975

DOWSER Peter Harmon with one of his Y-Rods

PARCHED TOWN SPENDS $180,000 TRYING TO FIND WATER –

THEN DOWSER DOES THE TRICK FOR $500

    BY JOHN BLACKBURN

After pouring $180,000 down the drain to find water, a parched Maine community finally turned the tide for $500 by shipping in an old-fashioned water dowser.

"I can smell water," boasted the water dowser, 33-year-old Peter Harmon, " I can feel it tugging at me like a bobber on a fishing pole."

"Harmon saved us from becoming a dry town," beamed a grateful Arland Fitz, director of the New Sharon, Me., water district.

"To conserve what water we had, we banned lawn sprinkling and car washing," Fitz continued. " We even restricted people to one bath a week and encouraged families to take their weekly baths together."

To save its problem, New Sharon – population 725 – twice hired engineering firms and spent $180,00 in federal loans over a 5-year period to find water.

"All they did was dig holes all over town," Fitz explained.

"We kept hoping but nothing happened – except the town got to looking like the surface of the moon with so many holes in the ground.

"We're patient folk – but not that patient. So we called Harmon. And for a $500 fee he found water at five different cites in one day. Now we can take all the baths we want."

Harmon told the ENQUIRER he dowses with a "Y-rod– a long piece of plastic."

Then he confided: "But I only do that when people are watching me. If nobody's watching, I just use my hand to find the water."

"Some people think that it's just a barroom trick but it really isn't. I can actually smell and feel the water."

    MAINE SUNDAY TELEGRAM AUGUST 6,1995

Gordon Barton, center, president of the American Society of Dowsers (at the time), dowse for water with a group at the society's convention at Lyndon State College in Vermont.

DOWSERS TUNE INTO THE EARTH AND THEIR UNCONSCIOUS

    Associated Press

Lyndonville, VT. – Dowsing is a quiet quest, usually for water or minerals in the ground. And even though it involves tapping into the world's vast well of collective understanding, its practitioners say it's a simple task that is achievable by all.

Dowsing's mixture of art, science, mysticism and philosophy is often misunderstood, a fact dowsers are used to. Even their friends – and sometimes their spouses – think it's kind of wacky.

That's OK with Gordon Barton, 70, a dowser from Winter Harbor, Maine. Barton said dowsing – the art of using a pendulum or stick and your own unconscious, to find anything from a vein of water to a set of lost keys – doesn't only attract doubt and weird comments. It also helps its practitioner cope with the world's naysayers.

"I'm far more open than I used to be," Barton said. Criticism "really doesn't matter. We don't try to force it on people."

Barton, the outgoing president of the American Society of Dowsers, got his start as a seeker of the hidden 40 years ago because his skepticism led him to try it. "I really didn't believe; I felt they really could not do those things," Barton said. "I've been seeking it ever since."

Since he began, the peace of mind that dowsing brings has improved his health, Barton said.

As president of the society, he has traveled all over the country lecturing on his craft. This past week, he attended the ASD's 35th annual school and convention for dowsers at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville.

Vermont is the nation's seat of dowsing. The ASD said the first dowsing contest was held in Danville in 1958, and its national head quarters is now in that town. This year's event attracted about 500 people from all over the United States.

Dowsers both novice and experienced traveled to Lyndonville for the conference. With some work, anyone can be a dowser, although the ASD says in its brochure that some have more aptitude for it than others.

To be successful, a dowser must be able to tap into a collective understanding shared by everyone on earth and the earth itself, dowsers said. Your unconscious is already part of this; if you allow it, it can instruct your conscious about things that aren't visible, or even about things that haven't happened yet.

Your unconscious, dowers said, already knows where the water is; where the oil is; or what's going to happen next week. It knows what in your body is making you ill. Dowsing helps your unconscious communicate that information to you – as long as you ask for it correctly.

And dowsing works just as well in a field as on a map a thousand miles away from the site.

" There's something out there we're all connected to outside of ourselves," said Bob Sird, a dowsing instructor teaching a seminar at the conference. "We all have the talent."

    DIRECTIONS FOR DIRECTION

Let’s be creative! Let’s be Innovative! Let’s be Open to Explore Possibilities!

The purpose of a compass is to find the direction of the Earths Poles.

BUT What else could it be used for! Dowsing of Course.

I have thought of a couple of ways you could use this as a dowsing tool. Remember to center or ground yourself first before you start.

    1. The degrees around the compass could be used to represent percentages.

FOR EXAMPLE: 0 degrees represented by the “North” or . “N” symbol to 100 degrees represented by the “South” or “S” symbol.

You can ask question (dowse) from 0-100%:

What percentage is this (FILL IN THE BLANK) for my highest and best good?

    2. You could use the “North, South, East, and West” directions for questions that involve direction.

FOR EXAMPLE: What direction should I go in to find a Great Mexican Restaurant that I will love?

These are two ways to use it.

Can you think of any others?

Create a new way or try the above ways to use the Compass for dowsing questions.

Fill Out The Form and submit your findings/results and be entered to win (See Below).

ALSO SEE Ginette Matania's Use of the Compass Diagram in the Video Archives.

ASD DIGEST VOLUME 57 ISSUE NO.4 WINTER 2017-2018

    ZEE'S FIRST CONFERENCE ADVENTURE

    BY ZEE BERRY

I was first introduced to the ASD by Sandi Isgro. The more she talked about it the more it sounded like an organization that could help me learn more about dowsing. Before I got involved with Sandi and the ASD, I believed dowsing was only to find water with a forked stick from an apple tree, that a pendulum (needle on a piece of thread) was used to determine the sex of an unborn child and a crystal on the end of a chain was used to practice moving objects with your mind to develop telekinetic power. Little did I know what a variety of things I would learn and could do with dowsing.

I love to read and when Sandi told me that being a member of the ASD gave me access to all kinds of information and a discount at the bookstore, I knew that I was interested in becoming a member but I wasn't quite ready to make the commitment.

Unlike other organizations I have joined so I could get the stuffed animal or the tote bag, if I became a member of the ASD I wanted to become a part of it and actively help the organization. I was trying to figure out if I had the time and dedication when Sandi decided for me. She surprised me with a membership as a gift and so began my journey with the ASD.

I knew that Sandi went to the ASD Conference every year and as I became more involved with learning how to dowse, the Conference sounded liked like something I would really enjoy and learn a lot from - with the added bonus that I would get to spend more time with Sandi (my friend and mentor). All I needed to do was find the money to go and get the time off from my corporate job in accounting. The time off took some work to arrange, and as for the money, I applied for a scholarship and volunteered to be a room monitor and to help with whatever else needed to be done. I am fifty years old and have not had to apply for a scholarship since I was in high school and getting ready to go to college so I was really nervous. The Universe was smiling on me and I got the time off AND the scholarship.

Saratoga was beautiful and I was like a kid in a candy store. Everywhere I looked something attracted my attention. Two of my favorite things were in Saratoga, horses and dowsing, so I was in heaven. After spending some time walking around town and taking photos, we arrived at Skidmore College, where the real adventure was about to begin.

My scholarship paid for two classes: the Foundation Course (for beginning dowsers) and Beyond the Foundation Course. After a wonderful breakfast at the cafeteria Wednesday morning, I headed to the Foundation Course. Everyone in the room was friendly and it felt like a positive and safe environment for learn ing. I was not confident in my dowsing skills and wasn't sure what to expect from this course, but my worries were unfounded. Allof the instructors were friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a course book to use as a reference during class, too. After learning the basics of dowsing, we took on the first lesson," How to Find Your Yes and No with L-rods." I liked that my personal yes and no could be different than my teacher or neighbors. We practiced in the classroom until all the students got consistent yes and no answers to questions they knew the answers to.

Teachers or a fellow student were happy to help if needed. When everyone was comfortable with the process we broke into groups and practiced outside.

After each new lesson, a practice session reinforced what we had learned. I think this was a wonderful way to teach and learn. My fellow students and I felt confident in what we were learning and that we could re-create the results outside the classroom. In many classes I have attended, the teacher demonstrates a technique and you think you understand it - until you try it yourself at home and it doesn't work. Without the teacher there to ask what went wrong, I might have gotten frustrated and quit. This class empowered us to practice dowsing and feel more confident about doing it. Every breakout group gave us the opportunity to learn from a different teacher and their personal experiences with dowsing.

This class lived up to its name and gave us a firm base to begin our journey as dowsers. We received exercises that we could practice at home and contact information to get help in the future. Overall, I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in dowsing. I made many new discoveries and friends.

On the second day, I was nervous about the Beyond the Foundation Course, thinking it might be too advanced for my be-

ginning skill. I was relieved to see some of the same friendly faces I met the day before in the Foundation Course and all the same teachers. This class allowed us to see what could be done once we had a firm foundation and time practicing dowsing. In this course, we applied what we learned in the Foundation Course and refined our questions. For example, in the first day's lessons we learned how to find water and the direction of the

flow. In this class, we added four criteria: potable, on the property, year round flow and at least five gallons a minute. It reinforced the concept that the key to any dowsing is the art of the question.

Using the same framework as the Foundation Course, we talked about a topic and then had a breakout session to practice what we learned. In our only breakout session (because we got carried away with talking), we again practiced finding water, but this time in much greater detail. We were asked to find the size of the water source, where on the water vein we should place the drill and the depth to dig. After finding the width of our water source (five feet) and the direction of the flow, the next step was to find the drill point. We were shown how to mark the point of entry, and learned that when forming our questions, the type of well and the equipment being used are also important. Next we dowsed to find the depth to drill. In our case, we found four different veins of water. One was 75 feet, which I dowsed as 79 feet. Another was 512 feet and two other students got 10 feet and 13 feet. At the end of the flow was an energy vortex. We discussed how it was possible to get so many different depths and all be correct and what an energy vortex was.

Back in the classroom we discussed how to use dowsing for maps and charts. The instructor, Brad, did an excellent job explaining map dowsing. He showed us how to break the map into quadrants and dowse each quadrant to find what we were looking for, and then how to make a grid in each quadrant with a ruler to narrow down the search even further. Again, the teachers were available to help with map and chart dowsing and to answer questions.

Our next topic was using dowsing with earth energies. If I had to pick one topic that seemed more advanced, this would be the one. There was so much to learn about toxic and negative energy and EMFs that it was a bit overwhelming. I think it needed to be its own workshop, and I would do more studying before I

attended it. The last topic was health. We learned a bit about finding leaks in the aura and sealing them, but again there was no time for breakouts or to be comfortable trying what we learned with any type of confidence. I would like to see the Foundation Course as a two day course and have the health topic as part of it. Next year I plan to attend the Foundation Course again. I'm glad I attended the Beyond the Foundation Course, but I think that it might be worth restructuring as individual workshops since there is so much to learn from each one! Consider joining us at the 2018 Dowsing Conference and experience some of these amazing discoveries for yourself.

    TREASURE HUNTING MANUAL FOR DOWSERS

    CATS, DOGS & PEOPLE

    BY LOUIS MATACIA

You will learn, unless you already know, how true the following words will become your axiom!

"The more you begin to know about people, the more you are going to LOVE YOUR DOG!" The reason, "DOGS DON'T LIE ABOUT LOVE!" (Read the book with the same title). In fact, if you haven't already developed a self-educational program, I.E. the natural sciences formatted in: Videos, CDs, cassettes, books, etc. Then it is never too late to begin. You will find this information fun to learn and will possibly help you survive the problems and surprises you may encounter in the treasure hunting adventures.

Review those morning ideas (especially treasure oriented one), for the knowledge they contain to guide you through your present and future life. Many times, I will wake in the night, my thoughts like the projections of an old movie flicking through my mind. At times like this I immediately get up and start recording my thoughts before they are lost to time. These early morning thoughts are answers to the questions when you went to sleep.

Anyone who is going to walk in the woods, the plains, mountains, beach, swamps, along the river, must accept this inner thrust for knowledge of secrets, accelerated by the desire to know the answers. The knowledge is there for you to receive and absorb. YOU CANNOT ATTEMPT TO HUNT TREASURES UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO EXIST WITH THE BEINGS THAT ARE ENCOMPASSING AND WANDERING ABOUT YOUR FIELD OF SEARCHES OR DISCOVERY. If you think you are going for a Sunday Walk in the woods, then you are going to suffer many human assumptions. The best way I know for you to accept the explorer haunts is by true life examples and experiences.

    CATS

Before specifics, I hope you are at the age of the outdoors person. That is you enjoy the outdoors by the way of hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, boating, trail riding on horseback, even taking your dog for a hike in the mountains. Large cats do exist in the forest, and they know immediately when you enter their domain. They are exceptionally psychic by nature. In fact, one hunter was tracking a large cat and before he knew what was going on, the cat was stalking him! He turned his head in time to see the cat and shoot before the cat was upon him. Be alert and attentive on the trail and stop often to observe 360 degrees to receive and absorb feelings from the land, visible and invisible.

Treasure hunting will take you into and among the animals that inhabit the region: You must be acquainted with the HABITEE or you will become the VICTIMEE from the Grantor's sacred home place.

One of the best ways to find information about the region during this trespass, it to begin at the internet or the library and check out all subjects. Any large parks in the region will have printed materials of life within the park area. This will provide immediate information on the area you are to visit.

Now you are ready for the second phase of your chose activity. Collect information through travel, talk to friends with outdoor field experiences. This will prepare you for treasure hunting, to be enjoyed to the fullest and without surprises. Without a plan of action, many people will become bored with the wilderness very quickly. Once you begin this self-study of nature, geology, history and all the sciences, then you will absorb the full life in the fields, streams, and forest. Life in the woods is a non-ending educational study. Accept and give this to yourself at any cost. What is stored upon the MIND is permanent forever.

    DOGS

There are so many dogs in the nation, that you naturally place "dogs" on the top of your "get to know list." Without a doubt, this will be the most encountered domesticated creature that you will run into in every phase of your treasure hunt. Dogs have become a real nuisance and out of control in our American way of living. I have estimated that not a part of the day ever passes that you do not encounter a defense of the dog by your senses, good or hostile. They have been invited into your way of life to a very high degree and all treasure hunters WILL ADJUST to the dog 100% of his entire life. Sooner or later, you will experience many of the positive, negative or iterations of these animals during your daily or night recon trips.

I personally encounter many breeds of dogs throughout the day while land surveying. Once, while surveying a townhouse, they owner had three dogs locked in his home. All three dogs barking and exhibiting a great delight in clamping their jaws, (all 750 Ibs. per square inch) onto any portion of my body.

There are three videos by the Discovery Channel, titled A Dog's Life: "A Dog's Secret", "Our Best Friends", "The Language of Dogs". This will introduce you quickly to the technology of the subject, but that is not enough. Dogs do and will interrupt your search for treasure more than any one animal besides the human! Do not TRUST THE DOGS you meet in the field. My dowser friend and teacher for three years, told me how dogs know all things. Ray knew a man that converse with dogs. A circle of friends had a meeting, whereby all the people would sit in circle in the living room and then bring the dog into the room. The dog would immediately proceed to lie down in front of the psychic or translator. A conversation began immediately between the psychic and the dog. The dog's viewpoint began to tell all that was seen and heard by all people. The dog’s paw was hurting, (unknown to the owner of the dog), and the dog said that the shop where he was taken, clipped his toenails too short and damaged the nerves in the nails. The owner was now super-heated with this discovery and called the shop. The shop owner finally confessed that they did clip the dog’s nails too short! I need not tell you how angry the owner of the pet was at this moment. The dog went on to discuss the girl who was going to be married. She was now going out with another man, naming that man who came to the house. DOGS DO KNOW ALL SECRETS. This session went on for over an hour with many fascinating facts about the dog’s view of people in the household. Try to make out with a woman with a dog in the same house! I will not give you the facts here, but Ray said, "Never dowse a water well with a dog running all over the site area!" Psychic information came to Ray this way, "It's like having to compasses on the same ship!" Same goes for too many people. Too many people, (even one negative person), are worse than dogs on a site. You, the dowser can extract information from a dog in private about anyone the dog has been in contact with during his activities.

When I go treasure hunting, I make sure everyone has dog biscuits ready and available in his pockets. Discover how to make friends with the dog to prevent him from barking, alerting the world you have just arrived from outer space!

Once I parked my van on the country site to begin the survey of the land. From experience, NEVER, EVER get out of the car when you arrive at any SITE, Treasure or otherwise. Just relax and absorb the feelings from the area, sensing everything that is present, no matter what, even if it is danger. And if you or anyone on the team receives an irritating feeling, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. This team agreement has previously been agreed upon. Escape while YOU ARE IN CONTROL, NOT WHILE SOMEONE ELSE IS GOING TO CONTROL YOU.

Well, here I sat in my van, receiving feelings of the land, animals, and people. Sure, enough a sniffing dog arrives. First, I don't trust dogs! So, I went to my large supply of dog biscuits, open the van door and deposited several of the food items for the dog on the ground. The dog checked out the food, ate one and then took one in his mouth and left the area. I remained in the van to see what was going to surprise me next! Well, shortly the dog returned with three of his buddies, SURPRISE! Now all four dogs heading for the van, barking, the alarm system. This is the major reason why I strongly favor never to step out of the van when arriving at any TREASURE SITE. Now the odds are not in my favor. So, I test the water so to speak! Reached into my bag of dog biscuits and begin to feed the new arrivals, thus hoping I am a hit with the locals of the area. Sure, enough they now begin to sniff me for approval. That is me (odor) along with the food supply. The dog is capable of at least 1,000,000 facts collected through his sniffer organs. Thus, I now wait to see if I am "in" or "out" with the locals! Well, after 10 minutes of evaluation by 4 dogs, I felt "IN" and I finally got out of the van and begin to tell the dogs how excellent their personality was, etc. Remember, you cannot LIE TO A DOG! I try to do this feat to the city dogs, but they all seem to want real fresh meat! Depending upon the key signs they do make, will impress upon my mind what is really going on. Oh yes, I have received bites by dogs a number of times and I have a lot of experiences when I delivered newspapers as a boy. Finally, I read where the dog could hear the newspapers moving at such a frequency, thus irritating the dog’s sensors. This caused the dog to go for fresh meat when it came to newspaper delivery time.

One of the most interesting stories given to me by psychic who wrote how dogs absorbed the negative aspect from the dog owner. For years, I researched through experience of associating the dog's negative attitude via the owner is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Each time I encounter a dog owner with the dog, I immediately talk TO THE OWNER TO CONFIRM THE ATTITUDE OF THE DOG, learning where I stand with the owner as well as my position with the dog.

I have very successful communications and business policies, knowing this one fact digested from the psychic's knowledge of owner and his pet dog.

There are too many breeds of dogs out there for you to be 100% accurate about what to do, but I suggest you treat all dog encounters with the highest priority, even if you are hiking on any trail. Dogs are very rarely restrained on the trails.

    PEOPLE:

A woman asked me about men! I answered that all men were DOGS! And if you don't believe me, ask Stuart. And she did. Stuart agreed with me. Now you can take everything you learned about dogs and multiply it by a factor of 500 and now you know all about people!

My experiences tell me a dog can smell or hear at least 3000 feet. Not only can the world of smelling give complete information to the dog, but they can see in many ways like a bird. I want to be in control; therefore, I leave food along the trail for the animals of all kinds, hoping to fill their stomach, check me out before I am surprised with a serious problem. I treat bears with even more respect, leaving honey in the trees at times.

Like the Boy Scout's Motto, "Be Prepared". (I want to be in control too).

    DOWSING GEOPATHOGENIC ZONES

    BY TAFFY TODD

As with everything else in nature our mother earth has a balance. Running beneath her skin are water veins, mineral veins, fault lines, underground caverns and other areas which emanate electromagnetic vibrations. Some of these are beneficial to life and some are not. Those that are beneficial have been termed “comfort zones” by dowsers; those that are not have been termed “Geopathogenic or noxious zones.”

A simple definition of a Geopathogenic or noxious zone is an area of earth energies not conductive to human living. The detection and neutralization of these areas has been of interest to dowsers throughout the world since the early 1900s when the German dowser von Pohl found a cancer correlation with dowsing zones that he related to a hypothetical radiation coming from inside the earth. In 1932 he published a book, Earth Rays as Pathogenic Agents, and the search was on for an “eliminator.” In Europe, over the next number of years, little wooden boxes with arrangements of metal strips were devised, and while marketed with some success, in the end it was shown that these eliminators actually did nothing.

Today, the American Society of Dowsers In Danville, Vermont, is seriously researching the relationship of these noxious “rays” and zones to human discomfort and illness, abnormal and unusual tree growth and plant reactions, and animal disease and behavior. Methods of neutralizing underground emanations hurting or interfering with the flow of noxious veins, have been researched and used successfully for many years and are constantly being added to and improved.

The detection of Geopathogenic areas begins with a competent dowser. In recent years, as people have become more aware of the existence of these areas, it has become accepted practice in some European countries to dowse the location of a building site not only for a water well, but also for noxious emanations to avoid sitting a home or office over them. Extended periods of time spent over a Geopathogenic zone can cause discomfort ranging from an inability to concentrate to headaches, insomnia, arthritis and some believe cancer. Dr. Hans Nieper of Germany, who works almost exclusively with multiple sclerosis patients, in addition to other treatments prescribed, have their homes (especially their beds and favorite chairs) dowsed for Geopathogenic radiations.

Baubiologie Is a term used for “architectural biology” – the ecological study of the relationships between human beings and their indoor environments. This includes not only the detection of noxious stones, but also the use of natural building materials and awareness of the effects of electrical appliances, etcetera. Baubiologie Is beginning to be accepted in this country and elimination obnoxious areas already present under existing homes as well as proper sitting of new buildings is a primary part of this. What good does it do to avoid electrical loops, microwave appliances or synthetic materials when deep underneath the earth, flowing veins of water or earthquake faults are causing discomfort and illness?

When a dowser is called upon to dowsed a home for Geopathogenic zones, he or she will begin with a series of general questions, the first of which is:

“Are there any radiations detrimental to health in, under, or through the building at any time of the day or night?”

The questions a dowser asked are the most important part of the process. A question like the one above covers all possibilities. If a dowser were to ask only for “noxious rays,” this would cover only his belief system as to what a noxious ray is. (A noxious ray is generally considered to emanate only from water and mineral veins.) Therefore, he or she might miss other noxious Geopathogenic areas that exist, or that might exist for only certain periods of the day.

As the dowser narrows the questions down to how many areas are present, if any are two-directional, and what methods are needed to correct them, he or she then prepares for actual on- site dowsing outside the building. Using the original question, the dowser circles the house nodding and marking where each radiation enters and exits. After determining the location of each radiation, he or she then determines, by dowsing, the proper method to deal with each one.

In years past, only the bed and major living areas were dowsed from within the house and the main way of dealing with such areas was to physically relocate the furniture – move the bed to another area or change the position of a favorite sitting place. This method is still in use and will help to a great degree. Ideal methods of dealing with Geopathogenic areas today, however include:

Diverting the water or mineral vein

The “stacking” of the vein with the rebar (a ½” x 18” Steel rod used to reinforce concrete)

Or in extreme or unusual cases, deflecting the energies through the use of copper wire

A diversion actually diverts the vein to another direction, while stacking interferes with the flow, allowing it to pass around the building and rejoin itself. Deflection is basically a method of shielding the entire house. Of course, no Dowser does any kind of dowsing without first asking: “Can I, should I, and am I ready?” In the case of diverting and staking, it is especially Important to ask for the correctness of the treatment for all beings concerned, not just for the human element.

Diverting a water vein (many noxious areas are caused by an underground water vein or crossing) is a simple process that can also be used to deal with wet basements or to replace a vein into an existing well that has lost its flow. A three-foot-long iron bar is pounded part of the way into the earth at the proper location and then hit with a sledgehammer on the side of the bar opposite from the direction you want the vein to go. The proof of the pudding is in the results – a dry basement, a fully operational well, or a good night's sleep.

Staking is done at exact locations and with exact numbers of rebar, both determined by dowsing. The rebars are generally driven into the ground 2 to 6 inches below the surface. Follow- up dowsing determines the success of the staking.

The deflection method requires a little more work. If it has been determined that the noxious energies running under the house cannot be corrected by staking or diversion, it may then be necessary to run a length of copper wire completely around the house. It is imperative, however, that a gap of an inch or two be left between the two ends (a full circuit of wire traps everything within the area being surrounded). Dowsers have discovered that leaving a gap causes trapped energies to be dissipated, while preventing further entrance obnoxious energies.

One of our researchers teachers has discovered that lightning- strikes, which commonly hit the earth where two or more water veins intersect, can increase the radius of the Geopathogenic area –an increase that lasts for an indeterminate amount of time period and dowsing trees that have been struck by lightning he has found that other disturbances in earth energies have been increased in such an area, out to a distance of about 35 feet.

This same researcher has dowsed the beds of numerous arthritis and cancer sufferers. In 100% of his investigations, where there is an arthritis sufferer in the house there is at least one water vein crossing under either the bed or the favorite chair. Most commonly it is the bed, and with strange accuracy these crossings occur beneath the exact area where the sleeper habitually places the afflicted part of the body. In arthritis sufferers there may be up to 5 or 6 crossings under the bed. Furthermore, he has found that there are many, many more crossings under the beds of cancer sufferers – a minimum of ten and up to twenty.

Once either of these diseases is existent in the sufferer, neutralization will not remove the symptom entirely, but it will greatly lessen the severity of arthritis symptoms and may help to slow the deterioration process in cancer patients. We do not yet know if Geopathogenic areas in any way caused these illnesses – some who sleep over water veins do not show any signs of arthritis or cancer – but to date it has been found, without exception, that those who are already ill are sleeping over crossings of veins.

It makes sense not to sleep over noxious areas anywhere. For example, a year ago, I was returning to Vermont from a dowser’s regional conference in North Carolina and stopped for the night at a motel in Virginia. Intuition said to sleep in the bed closer to the wall, but I habitually chose the one near the window, ignoring my intuition. If I had not been so tired at the time I might have listened and either slept in the other bed or dowsed the one, I had selected; but I didn't and paid dearly for it the next morning. I was barely able to lift my head from the pillow. My head ached, I could not keep myself awake and I wondered how I would ever drive be 600 miles ahead of me that day. After I was able to get out of the bed and spend some time away from the area of the room, I felt better and was able to think straight. I dowsed the bed I had just slept in and found a strong, jagged and noxious earthquake fault directly under where my head had been while I slept. It was so strong that it had affected me very badly in just one short night.

At that same regional conference, which was held in Asheville, North Carolina, many dowsers complained of feeling disoriented and not being able to find their way about. This needless to say, is unusual in the extreme for dowsers. Some of the more expert dowsers took out their maps of the college campus and discovered that it was heavily crisscrossed with energy leys and that there were a number of both positive and negative energy vortexes. (This is not surprising since Asheville is fast becoming an area to which “new age” people find themselves drawn.) The energies were basically positive, not noxious but they had a disorienting effect on the dowsers who are sensitive to the earth vibrations – especially so when they are dowsing or have opened themselves up.

It is also possible to employ the same techniques used in removing Geopathogenic energies, to bring beneficial energies to your environment. This, however, takes extreme expertise and dowsing. You must be totally competent at the art to be certain that you are truly dowsing the beneficial energies – and that they are not only beneficial in general, but also beneficial to spend much time with. (For example, energy leys are beneficial in many ways, but it is extremely difficult to live over one for long periods of time.) It would be all too easy for the novice to make a mistake and bring in noxious energies instead.

These techniques can be used in the garden as well as in the home. If there are specific areas of your garden where plants don't grow well, it might be due to Geopathogenic causes. You can see the effect on trees located over noxious areas when they are spirally twisted, deformed or have cancerous growths. (It is generally believed that the height of the tumor on a tree is in direct relation to the depth underground water will be found.)

Animals, too, are susceptible to Geopathogenic areas. A dowser who was dowsing a well at a farm in Vermont was asked to dowse the barn, having been told only that there was an area in it where six cows had sickened and died. Much to the farmer's surprise, the dowser pinpointed the area... which turned out to be affected by numerous crossings of water veins. The veins were diverted, and the problem never recurred.

What does all of this mean to you? We are all trying to live in balance and harmony on this Earth. We feel, as dowsers, that we have been given the chance to interact with the Earth in ways that can be more beneficial than those normally employed or understood. For example, when the dowser determines a well site only one hole is drilled not many; and if the dowser has asked for the water vein that is correct for the situation, then those that are to remain undisturbed remain undisturbed. Moreover, while many of you have been in spots that either felt uncomfortable or where you felt a heightened sense of well-being, dowsers are more concerned with those areas that are too subtle to be felt except over a long period of time spent in them.

One final reminder: You are working with subtle yet powerful energies; a novice needs the help of a dowser who is experienced in working with Geopathogenic zones. It is important to do everything in correctness and not to misuse the ability or mistreat the Earth or any other beings who might be involved.

    APRIL '26 NEWSLETTER SKILL BUILDER

    With Optional Raffle Entry (4/1/26-4/30/26)

Creating a Labyrinth is creating a sacred space. It is what our ancestors did thousands of years ago, it is what they have done in every civilization and culture throughout human history.

Labyrinths are encoded into our DNA making them unforgettable. We find the oldest ones built on sites with the highest earth and spiritual energies present.
Combine this with at least one Ley Line running thru it, these labyrinths are very powerful. It is felt that when someone is walking one their prayers, questions, and requests are transmitted thru the Ley Lines to other Labyrinths and sacred sites.

Many times someone will walk out of the Labyrinth with the answer they needed.

The design of the labyrinth pathways create a calming effect as well as a balancing of our nervous system. This allows us to then receive or be open to receiving information.
The 7-Circuit Classical Labyrinth relates directly to our 7 Chakras and our bodies flow of energy. As such it also relates to the chakra colors and their frequencies. The 7 notes in Music, etc.

The 3- Curcuit Labyrinth (which is the center of the 7-Curcuit) relates to the Trinity in all its incarnations.
Creating your own Labyrinth is a wonderful co-creative process that can lead you to greater spiritual connection to all of creation and help you on your own personal journey.

    LABYRINTH PLACEMENT

Using a Pendulum or Other Dowsing Method Find the Center of Your Labyrinth by using Yes or No Questions:

ASK the Land (Plants, Trees, Insects & Animals in the area for their help and permission to build this Labyrinth)

ASK the Spirits (Fairies, Sprites, Gnomes & Guardians for their help and permission to build this Labyrinth)

    Example Question:

"Where is the best place to put the Center of the Labyrinth for the highest and best good of ALL?"

    LABYRINTH MATERIALS

Your Labyrinth Can Then Be Outlined By Household Items Such as Stones, Spray Paint, Building Materials or Chalk depending on how long you wish your Labyrinth to last.

Alternatives: If you do not have access to an acceptable and welcoming outdoor space follow the above and dowse the room and the materials to use like packing tape, blue painters tape (which will not harm floors or carpets), pebbles, leaves, pinecones, legos, etc.

    MARCH '26 NEWSLETTER FEATURED ARTICLE

ASD DIGEST VOLUME 56, NO. 2 SUMMER 2016

    EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

    BY TOM MEADE

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) was developed by Gary Craig in the early 1990s. Unlike many healing modalities, an original training manual (75 pages) and an instructor's manual (125 pages) were free online. Today, many free websites offer tutorials and thousands of examples of how to address specific issues. Many years ago, Earl Nightingale created a motivational tape program on "The Greatest Secret." It is so simple and you have heard it before – "You become what you think about." We all know that everything is a frequency (or vibration) and Einstein said, "Thought is energy" (i.e., frequencies). Bruce Lipton, a bio-quantum physicist, has stated that the real brain of a cell is not the nucleus, the DNA or the genes. You can remove the nucleus and a cell will continue to live; it just can't reproduce. The real "brain" of a cell is the cell wall, and what it allows in is what impacts the body. While the initial impact of a stressor on the body may only be on a small portion of cells, all cells of the body communicate with each other and can thus be negatively affected. These stressors could be environmental (toxins), physical trauma, nutritional, spiritual and/or emotional. Therefore, one stressor, such as our emotions, can impact all the cells of our body.

Practically all physical illnesses and diseases have an emotional basis to them. Even diseases that are genetically caused can be triggered by negative emotions. Not everyone who has a genetic structure for diabetes, breast cancer or sickle cell anemia, for example, develops the disease. But why not? Doctors call this the "placebo effect", as the medical profession is not ready yet to recognize stressors outside of viruses, bacteria, amoeba, parasites and fungi that open you up to illnesses and disease.

Too many people look for the physical healings; they look for the quick fix from the outside. But if the emotional basis is not addressed, the illness too often returns in another form to affect the body. A healer I know tells the story of a woman he was helping who went through a hateful divorce and came to him because she developed cancer. After several treatments the cancer disappeared, but she retained emotional issues of hatred for her ex-spouse...she refused to let go of these feelings. A year later she returned to the healer for further help. Her cancer was arrested (again), but. (again) she refused to address her hatred for her ex-husband. Even though he was no longer in her life, she was going to let her unresolved feelings ultimately kill her.

Too often, people chase healing modalities – wanting someone to heal them rather than taking ownership of their healing themselves. Healing modalities are wonderful "tools," but an individual must set their ego aside and become part of the healing process. People need to know they have the power within themselves to heal.

EFT, and other healing modalities such as Reiki, reflexology, Recollective Healing, Touch for Health, acupuncture, acupressure, qi gong, The Emotion Code and dowsing, all work with the meridians or energy channels of the body. I always make sure these channels are open or clear and perform a "meridian wash" of a client's 14 primary meridians. The technique by Mo Wheeler and Rebecca Garland called the "Less Than a Minute Energy Fix" (see the ASD Digest Fall 2015) is a great way to clear, balance and strengthen your own energy. This is also an important first step by the client prior to starting EFT.

Before I see a client, I always dowse for them using a list compiled from the work of Raymond Grace, John Butler and Mo Wheeler of issues one might have that need to be cleared. Clearing these issues is essential and ensures two things:

    (1) It prepares the client for their session

    (2) It protects the practitioner from "picking up" anything negative or detrimental from the client.

I also use the "Emotional Toxins" charts (from the Pendulum Dowser's Chart series by Anne Williams and available through the ASD Bookstore) to clear emotional stressor(s) that the client is ready to release.

Gary Craig has said that our early thoughts, actions and statements become the "writings on our walls" and they can impact us negatively for the rest of our lives. All those times we hear "no, don't do this, don't do that" as a child can progress to criticism, abuse or trauma from our parents, siblings, relatives, teachers, friend, classmates, bullies, bosses or caches.

Typically, a client has one or two major issues that are the most detrimental to their balanced health. Unless a client comes in asking for a specific modality, I will dowse to see what is most appropriate for their highest good at that time. Bio-feedback and EFT come up most often (and EFT almost always.) A client usually sees me for a specific physical issue they want addressed, but the overwhelming reason why the issue has occurred or cannot be resolved is emotional. Even thought the physical issue may be recent, the main negative emotion that needs to be released more than likely goes back for years. If not the result of a recent traumatic event, these negative emotions typically occurred more than five years in the past.

Some people undergoing an EFT session will have no success for a couple of reasons. They may have been brought to the session by well-meaning friends or relatives, but believe that they can't heal themselves of that EFT is not science-based and thus won't work. Another issue is the ego...You must let it go.

Remember that your power is unlimited! You can heal yourself of all things. You can accomplish anything you want if you will let go of negative thoughts, attitude, and behavior as well as fear, worry and anger. Jesus said, "All that I can do, you can do." And the Bible says that God created man in His image. In other words, you have the ability to be a co-creator with God. The path to balanced health is clear you just have to figure how far you want to walk on it without taking those side paths of fear, worry, negative thoughts, etc.

Before you start an EFT session, it's good to do some "cross crawls" (right elbow to left knee, then left elbow to right knee, several times) to get your energy flowing. Next perform the "Gamut Procedure," which takes about 10 seconds but gets both the right and left sides of your brain working. TO do this tap on the Gamut Point (see illustration) between the baby and ring fingers. While tapping, close your eyes, open them, look hard to the left, look hard to the right, look down to the left and look down to the right. Roll your eyes counterclockwise, then roll them clockwise. Hum a tune for two seconds. Count to five and then hum a tune for two seconds again.

To begin EFT, select an issue and focus on it for a minute. Bring to mind when it occurred and include the sensations present at that time, e.g., sight, sound, colors, temperature, feeling, scents, etc. Relive the moment and then assign the issue a number from 1 to 10, with 10 being the greatest negative emotion. If the issue is abuse suffered as a child for example, create an affirmation statement scubas, " I release the trauma of this abuse." Repeat the affirmation statement three times while tapping on the "Sore Spot" (see illustration), also known as K27.

Tapping will continue at the top of the head. Tap at least seven times while saying, "even though I was abused by ________, it is time to let it go. I don't want it. I don't need it. I choose to let it go."

Move to the bone between the eyes and repeat the same statement while tapping at least seven times.

Continue tapping and repeating the statement as you move to the occipital bone on the sides of the eye, the occipital bone below the eyes, under the nose above the lip, above the lip, above the chin and below the lip, where the collar bone meets the sternum, under the arm pit, points on the fingers and the karate point on the side of the hand. Finish by tapping the inside of the two wrist together.

When your tapping is complete, review the issue again, focus your senses on it, and assign it a number. It will be the first number that comes to your mind. Don't try to second guess yourself. If you originally assigned the issue a 10, perhaps it is now a 7.

Next, look at a tangent to that issue. For example, your next statement might be, "Even thought ________ abused me, and ________ knew about it I choose to forgive them." Repeat this new statement through another round of tapping. Reassess your "number" and keep repeating the process until you reach 0. Clients frequently believe that the issue was their "fault" as well and will need to also forgive themselves, which can be more difficult than forgiving other.

The release (achieving 0) is accompanied typically by a physical reaction. Gary Craig calls this the "ZZIT Point" and it may be a yawn, a deep breath, a wave of calmness or a vibration or tingling. When you feel this reaction, you will no longer need to assign numbers on the issue at the end of a found; you are done. Unless you consciously make an effort to bring it back, the issue is gone and will not return.

It is important to follow the guidelines as you begin to learn the tapping process. You need to verbalize your statements –some– times shouting them can help. But once you have the technique down, the rules can be broken: you won't need to use two hands on the eyes; it's OK if you miss a spot. I have one client who began virtual tapping as a marathon swimmer, going through the statements and points in her mind while swimming. Above all else it is important to be specific in your statement. A general statement such as, "Even though I have this anxiety, I don't want it, I don't need it, and I choose to let it go," will not clear because it is just too general! Fears and worries are usually big issues. So get specific. For example, "This fear of flying that I have because I think the plane will crash...I don't want it, I don't need it and I choose to let it go" is very specific.

It is essential to bring up the negative emotional issue in EFT and then follow it with a positive release such as, "I choose to let it go." Creating a statement with intent is crucial to EFT's success. One reason people don't continue with EFT on their won is that they "don't know what to say." My advice is: Just bring up a negative and follow it with a positive. Following are a few sample statements:

    • "Even though I ________ (enter specific issue)________, I don't want it, I don't need it, I choose to let it go."
    • "I choose now to ________(enter positive specific issue)________."
    • "Event though________(enter specific issue)________ has been with me all these years, it is time to let it go. I don't want it. I don't need it and I choose to let it go."
    • "Event though I get upset and nervous about ________(enter specific issue)________, I choose to be calm, confident and in control."
People are bothered by the negative thoughts that enter their minds. You can't stop those thoughts but you don't

have to keep it there. Say simply, "Cancel that thought." If it goes away, great: if it doesn't, then a quick round of tapping should resolve it.

EFT is not hard to learn and it works for everything  – physical and emotional. It has proven to be one of the best treatments for PTSD for veterans and is very effective in treating trauma incurred from abusive relationships.

Athletes also practice EFT to help heal sports-related injuries. I work with a client who is both a successful athlete and an astute business person. Significant issues developed within a family-run business and the client stepped in to help  resolve the problems. The emotional toll on my client was devastating and my client soon developed fear and a should problem. After one EFT session, everything changed. One athletic triumph led to another and within two years my client was named World Athlete of the Year in their sport!
